The Farmhouse

The beautiful Farmhouse "Tenuta Il Vallone" is immersed in a valley overlooking a typical hilly landscape. There are 3 ha of olive groves, recently planted ( 670 plants in 2000 ) with the traditional Tuscany varieties ( 20% leccino, 70% frantoio, 10% pendolino ).They have already started to produce a fine extra virgin olive oil.

From the house you can see vineyards and olive trees, and old Medieval villages on the top of the hills.
The nearest village is Monsummano Terme, which is about 4 km far from the Farmhouse, 7 km far from spa town  Montecatini and 16 km far from Pistoia, the provincial chief town.

We are open from 15th April till 15th October, we are centrally located for visiting cultural towns such as Pisa ( 60 km), Lucca ( 28 km), and Florence ( 35 km) and for enjoying country pursuits such as walking, mountain-bike riding and  horse riding.

Accommodation

The structure of the old Farmhouse has been maintained and it's now ready for people who desire staying relaxed feeling the contact with nature. The house has been restored in 2003 and we have created 4 independent apartments. For each of them we chose names of flours. There are 2 Trilo apartments (Ortensia and Elleboro) for 4/5 people, and 2  Bilo apartment for 3/4 people. All the 4 apartments of our

Farmhouse are completely autonomous, with tuscany style furnishing and well equipped with the best facilities ( heating, air conditioning, TV sat, fridge, microwave oven ).

All the apartments face a large terrace protected by a large tent and sun umbrellas with furnished space for each family .

The Farmhouse is immersed in a wide garden with olive trees, some big trees and secular oak trees bordering the swimming pool ( 6 mt - 12 mt ).
You can also use the barbecue and our bikes for short trip in the vicinity.

Apartments description:

2 Trilo apartment (Ortensia, ground floor; Elleboro, first floor) for 4/5 persons each – 55 mq
- 1 double room,
- 1 room with a large window with 2 beds – bunk beds,
- 1 sitting room with a kitchen corner and a sofa bed for 1 person,
- 1 bathroom with shower.

2 Bilo apartments (Primula, first floor; Geranio, ground floor) for 3/4 people each - 45 mq

- 1 double bedroom,
- 1 sitting room with a kitchen corner with a sofa bed for 2 people,
- 1 bathroom with shower


We are located in the north of Tuscany, near Florence, Pistoia, Montecatini and Lucca. The nearest town is Monsummano Terme which offers visitors a large choice of activities and sights, from art and culture to excursions exploring the natural environment to health spas and sporting activities such as golf.

GOLF FACILITIES: in the week you are here you can go every day from Sunday till next Saturday except to Golf Club Montecatini ( 2 km away ) and Golf Club Le Pavoniere ( 15 km away ). If you want to book a “tee time” in a special day, let us know and we will do it for you. As guest of Tenuta Il Vallone you have a discount on the entrance fare.
 
SPA AND HEALTH TREATMENT: Tenuta Il Vallone is located just 4 km far from the world-famous "Grotta Giusti", which offers a range of relaxing and revitalising massages and other natural health treatments around its natural hot spring (www.grottagiustispa.com).  We will be happy to make all the arrangements for you. There are special prices for our guests.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: Tennis and golf facilities are all within 4-6 km; horse riding lessons or trekking facilities are 6 km away ( about € 13,00/h per lesson, with hire of horses for trekking according to time ).

WINE TASTING and traditional Tuscany picnics, with a guided tour of the wine cellar, vines and olive groves.
 
GUIDED DAILY EXCURSIONS ( from May on ): Firenze, Lucca, Pistoia, Siena, S.Gemignano, and many historical Medieval villages like Vinci, Monsummano Alto, Montevettolini, Larciano Alto.

We remember that at the Farmhouse itself we do not serve breakfast and dinner. Anyway there are many characteristic Tuscany restaurants nearby, and we will be happy to make recommendations and arrange reservations for you, if you wish.

Montecatini Golf Club
Immersed in the Tuscan countryside, the Montecatini Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course of natural beauty that has been built in the hilly countryside. The player is faced with many natural hazards such as lakes, streams, forests, and ditches which have been formed as part of the natural contours of the land. As well, the course features many dog legs and the greens are very fast and are also undulating, putting the best golfer’s skill to the test.

GOLF CLUB LE PAVONIERE
18 holes  6100 mts Par 72
Built in 1996, this Arnold Palmer designed course is gently undulating and is a pleasant course to walk. As you would expect, it has a very American feel with beautifully manicured fairways, well defended greens, strategic use of bunkers and water coming into play on several holes.
