Le Favette Farmhouse B&B Umbria Golf Holidays Italy

Golf Italy B&B 15th century farmhouse

 

Set amongst several acres of olive trees and vines in the ancient hills of Umbria, Le Favette is a magical place to base a holiday.

Though parts of the farmhouse date back to the 15th Century, you will find it well equipped with everything you would expect for a relaxing holiday in Italy.
 
It is tastefully furnished with a mixture of traditional and more modern furniture, and an eclectic mixture of art on the walls.
 
There is also a modern apartment, which has just been completed to complement the facilities of the farmhouse, which can be rented separately, or alongside the main villa depending on the size of your party.
 
 
The farmhouse sleeps 8-9 people with 3 double bedrooms and 2 single. There is plenty of room to spread out with 3 sitting rooms to choose from, the largest has an attractive open hearth, for the cooler days of autumn and winter.

Also on the ground floor is a separate sitting room with satellite TV and music system.

You will also find an extensive library of books, DVDS, CDs and videos. Board games and a card table are there for quiet times.
 
The kitchen is well equipped for those that like to cook, and intend to take advantage of the wonderful local produce for which this part of Italy is justly famed.

Among the facilities you will find are; an oven, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a toaster, a food processor, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and an iron and board. There is also a breakfast table
 
There are two en-suite bathrooms, a separate bathroom and a shower room, so even when the house is full nobody has to wait too long.

A 15th Century loft above the master bedroom used to house doves, but now acts as a store room to tidy away suitcases once you have unpacked.
 
The apartment has a fire in a combined sitting room and dining room, with an attractive mezzanine floor and wrought iron spiral staircase.

Throughout the property there is a tasteful blend of antique and modern furniture, and an interesting art collection.

With two double bedrooms, the apartment comfortably sleeps four.
 
Within the kitchen you will find the full range of modern appliances the enthusiastic cook expects.

The washing machine and tumble drier make doing the laundry simple. The apartment also features two bathrooms, both with showers.


Set in several acres of olive trees and vines, Le Favette is right in the heart of the Umbrian countryside.

Spend your days by the pool, overlooking the Tiber valley across to the hillside town of Todi.

Spend your evenings dining al fresco having cooked on the large barbeque or pizza oven.
 

 

The garden is delightful with shade from mature trees during the day and can be lit at night to make the most use of warm summer evenings.
A practice hole at the bottom of the estate provides distraction for those who feel in need of improving their short game.

A folding table tennis table is also provided to occupy those with a bit of spare energy to burn off.

There is an 8m x 3m private pool at Le Favette.

Tennis

Courts are available locally in a sports complex in Todi.

PERUGIA GOLF CLUB
The Golf Club Perugia is situated only 3 miles from the center of the historic Etruscan city of Perugia, and within easy reach of the famous historic and cultural towns of Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Spoleto and Cortona, and only 12 miles from Lake Trasimeno.
The course is gently undulating parkland - Par 72 - SSS 70 - 6,272 yards in length, partly dating from the nineteenfifties, and redesigned by the Architect Davide Mezzacane and increased to 18 holes in the early nineties.The holes are not exceptionally long, but the rich vegetation, and mature trees lining many fairways call for precision, particularly with the drive, and on the fast, undulating greens.

ANTOGNOLLA GOLF
There are two courses: Antognolla Executive and Antognolla Championship. The par 71 18-hole championship course is 6633 yards (6065m) long, and is unique in its employing the concept of bio-diversity, with a combination of different types of plants which all belong to the same species providing for a memorable golfing experience.
The par 27 9-hole Executive course is 1225 yards (1120m) long, and although the distances are relatively limited, this golf course is interesting and unquestionably scenic, with a splendid view of the Castle from each hole.
