Casa Miradouro bed and breakfast near Penha Longa Golf Club, Portugal

Casa Miradouro bed and breakfast near Penha Longa Golf club, Belas Golf Club, Quinta da Beloura Golf Club, Quinta da Marinha golf club and Estoril Golf Club.

Casa Miradouro was built around 1890 for a family of army officers. In 1987 the family moved out and the house stood empty for six years.  The present owner, Frederic Kneubuehl, bought the house in 1993 and completely restored it. Casa Miradouro opened for guests in July 1994.

The name, Casa Miradouro, translates to "Viewpoint house", so named because of the fantastic view towards the Atlantic ocean and over Sintra up to the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle.

The house has six large bedrooms with private bathrooms. A buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room.

Casa Miradouro offers their guests a living room with a beautiful stucco ceiling, satellite television, a bar and a fireplace to sit around and read the literature on Sintra and Portugal that is available to the guests.  There is a very pleasant terrace area in the lovely garden that surrounds the house.  Casa Miradouro is classified as "Casa de Turismo de Habitação" by the state tourist authority.
The owner/manager is a Swiss national. Languages spoken are Portuguese, English, French and German.

Rooms
The house has six large bedrooms decorated in different colors, all with private bathrooms. Double-glazed windows and central heating make the rooms comfortable even in the Portuguese winter. All rooms are kept in bright colours and dispose of large windows so you can enjoy the magnificent views.
Some rooms have beautiful stucco ceiling.  We and over 90 percent of the guests appreciate if nobody smokes in the bedrooms.

Located within 500 metres of the national palace, Casa Miradouro provides an excellent base to visit the historic monuments of Sintra as well as it's beautiful parks and the outstanding new museum of contemporary art with the Berardo collection created after World War II. It is considered one of the most important on the Iberian Peninsula.
