VON ABERCRON RESIDENCE is a luxury Guesthouse situated directly above The Hermanus Golf Course, thereby providing an ideal location for golf holidays in South Africa and adjacent to Fernkloof Nature Reserve with magnificent and panoramic mountain and sea views. It's only a few minutes to the centre of Hermanus and the best places to watch whales, or to the two main beaches (Grotto Beach & Voelklip Beach).

We offer our guests not only a high standard of comfort, but also a restful enviroment in a quiet, safe and peaceful area. Our guests are invited to use the lovely garden with a saltwater pool and a barbeque under our covered lapa.

Enjoy nature with the sound of birds and unbelievable views, only metres from the superb golf course and mountain trails. Relax and enjoy our house. You can choose between a large variety of sporting facilities, or go out for whale watching by boat, or try boat-based surface and shark cage viewing.

We have 3 double bedrooms each with bathroom ensuite, 2 apartments and/or self-catering apartments (fully equipped). Each room is individually furnished and decorated.

We serve your breakfast in our breakfast room or under our lapa in the garden. Or you could use our covered stoep with a fantastic view over the golf course to Walker Bay.

Other facilities include: heater, satellite TV, safe, fridge, under-floor heating, heated towel rail, hairdryer, radio, coffee/tea facilities, terrace, balcony, laundry service, secure parking on premises.

And last but not least, the possibility of a massage by a qualified physiotherapist.

Hermanus Golf Club offers the keen golfer 18 incredible holes of golf. The Hermanus course is set in magnificent scenery with views of the sea and a backdrop of the mountains. Wild life and natural Cape flora are attractive features and the many trees provide the beauty for ideal golfing terrain.The whale capital Hermanus offers in season (July to early December) besides golfing also good whale-watching. When you can't spot whales in the sea, you can watch baboons crossing the fairways.
The Hermanus Golf Club has become one of the most popular golf courses in the country - a definite 'must play' course. The Hermanus Golf Club is a private course, offering privacy to the members, yet accessibility to the public.
Challenge: The sixth hole is probably one of the toughest holes in the Cape. It has a suit and out-of-bounds on the right and trees to the left of this narrow fairway, demanding accuracy into the wind. The green slopes uphill from front to back with a water hazard looming close by on the right.

Arabella Golf Club

The Arabella Estate, originally known as "Laughing Waters", began as a barley farm and is an area designated a "World Biosphere", and earmarked to become a "World Heritage" site.
Maintaining a balance between man and nature was foremost in the development of the Championship Golf Course on the "Beautiful Land", with its rolling, undulating terrain.
The course was completed during December 1999 and Peter Matkovich has ensured the 18 holes encompass the Mountain backdrops, lagoon frontage and forests on the estate.
These provide for links, parkland and coastal aspects, while the individual
fairways provide natural corridors as vantage points to savour nature's true beauty.
The challenge of finding the wide fairways is set by hungry bunkers, thirsty water hazards and lagoon, and emphasized by the magnificent "dominant bent grass" greens.
