COSTA BRAVA GOLF CLUB

The COSTA BRAVA GOLF CLUB is situated in Sta.Cristina d'Aro (Girona), in the heart of the Costa Brava, where the abundant and varied Mediterranean vegetation gives you a peaceful feeling. It lies only 4 Km. from the well-known inlets and beaches of Platja d'Aro and St. Feliu de Guixols, first-class tourist places, where you can find all kind of facilities for shopping and entertainment, as well as a great variety of hotels and restaurants.
Easy to reach: motorway A-7 Exit 9 from Barcelona and Perpignan (100 Km), and from Girona (30 Km) via road C250.

The 18 holes Golf Course, founded in 1968, was designed by Hamilton Stutt & CO. It combines a very technical first 9 holes, surrounded by pines and cork oaks, with the long second 9 holes, flat terrain with wide long fairways.
The 18th hole lies close to the Club House a Catalonian Farm of 1841, and from the Club House Restaurant you have a beautiful view of the 18th green, down below.
It is a private club but Green-Fees are welcome the whole year.

Golf Girona

Golf Girona was inaugurated in 1992. The course was designed by the prestigious architect F.G Hawtre, with 18 holes, par 72, covering a distance of 6,100 meters. This is the only course in Spain that has been seeded with "Pencross".

It has a privileged position in a splendid climate, where you can enjoy playing golf all year round. There are direct links to the A.7 motorway and all the most important communications infrastructures of the area.

The course takes full advantage of the local topography and the natural shape of the terrain, the result being both elegant and pleasing but at the same time offering a challenge to golfers of all levels, It is completely isolated from the urban life of Girona.

Other facilities include a restaurant, snack bar and putting green. There is a Pro Shop, championship management service, etc. and a variety of equipment is available for hire.

Golf Girona aims to offer an excellent service for golfers, aiming to promote the game in an environment adapted to the natural surroundings.

Guadalmina Club de Golf

Guadalmina Golf is a popular golf course providing two 18 hole golf courses and a 9 hole practise course.

Founded in 1959, the course is located 1 kilometre west of San Pedro de Alcántara at the Costa del Sol in the Malaga region. In general Guadalmina Golf can be described as a golf course with reasonably wide undulated fairways sweeping through recently developed urbanization's and villas.

Guadalmina Norte, opened in 1975 and designed by Folco Nardi, is probably the easier of the two golf courses although the fairways are more undulated and there are more water hazards and trees in play.
Guadalmina Sur opened in 1959. This course, designed by Javier Arana, is after Malaga Parador del Golf the oldest course at the Costa del Sol. The wide fairways and raised greens stretch out towards the beach.

Mijas Golf

Mijas Golf, probably the busiest and most popular golf pcomplex on the Costa del Sol, has two 18-hole courses of which the older is Los Lagos, first opened in 1976. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, it features wide fairways, large raised greens and an abundance of bunkers and water hazards. Los Lagos was aptly named for there are eight lakes in and around the course.

Nonetheless, there is virtually no rough and relatively few trees, giving an overwhelming impression of freedom and space. But players should still be careful, especially at difficult holes like the par five 13th: although it looks deceptively easy from the elevated tees its green is protected by water to both the right and the left. At 6.348 metres off the championship tees, Los Lagos is one of the longest courses on the Costa de Sol. Incidentally, it is the first club to operate with the new GPS satellite navigation system on its buggies. (How far to the pin? Just a second, I'll check with the satellite..)

Estepona Golf

Estepona Golf ins privately owned by Rory & David Leader, whose policy is to concenrtate con visiting golfers as a "pay as you play" course. The course was designed by José Luis Lopez and fisrt opened in 1989. The design uses the natural landscape which is set against the Sierra Bermeja mountain range, and enjoys sea views from most parts of the course.

The fairways are wide and the greens large which provides a challenge for players of all levels, but doesnt penalise the average golfer.

Playing in the first nine you'll have the pleasure to play the longest hole in Spain, our third hole, a par 5 called the Ski Run which measures 568 metres from the white tees. Many palms, eucalyptus and wild olive trees have been planted on the course, and players have a great opportunity to enjoy many rares species of wildlife, particulary on the second half.
